last English challenger of the J class in 1937 America’s Cup. Its defeat by the
defender "Ranger" represented the end of an age. Fragile and expensive because
of the constant research of new materials an the appliance of advanced technologies, these
giants of the sea were dropped in favour of more agile ships. |
